St. Luke Guild sponsoring natural family planning conference

Natural Family Planning event flyer - ETC webSister Marie Paul Lockerd, RSM, DO, and Dr. J. Michael Carlson, DO, will lead a St. Luke Guild of East Tennessee conference on natural family planning Saturday, April 5, at St. Albert the Great Church’s parish hall.

The Science and Practice of Natural Family Planning conference, which is sponsored by the St. Luke Guild, is free and open to the public and is intended for health care professionals.

The conference at St. Albert the Great, 7200 Brickey Lane in Knoxville, will begin with an 8 a.m. Mass, followed by registration at 8:45 a.m. The natural family planning program then begins at 9 a.m. and continues through noon.

Sister Marie Paul will offer an introduction to natural family planning as well as discussion on managing infertility using natural family planning. Dr. Carlson will lead a session on integrating the Catholic faith into medical practices.

The conference provides 2.5 hours of continuing medical education credit and has been planned and implemented in accordance with the essential areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint sponsorship of Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge and the St. Luke Guild.
