Catholic Day on the Hill set for Feb. 20

Parishioners from across the state will gather Feb. 20 in Nashville for Catholic Day on the Hill, the annual meeting between constituents and legislators to discuss state issues that affect the Catholic community.

The day of prayer, advocacy and education is an opportunity to advocate on Church-related issues, according to the Tennessee Catholic Public Policy Commission, which sponsors the event.

“With the tremendous changes we’ve witnessed on the political landscape of our nation and our state, it is more important than ever to give witness to our Catholic faith in the political arena,” said Paul Simoneau, director of the Diocese of Knoxville’s Office of Justice and Peace.
