Sacred Heart School seeking new principal

Sacred Heart Cathedral School is seeking applications from qualified candidates interested in the principal position being vacated by veteran principal Sedonna Prater, who will become director of curriculum and instruction for the Diocese of Knoxville’s 10 schools once the current school year concludes. Here is the school’s position posting:

Sacred Heart Cathedral School (http://www.shcschool.org/about-sacred-heart.asp), founded in 1956, is seeking a principal for an Advanc-Ed accredited Catholic school, grades K-8, with 600 students and a preschool with 75 students. It is a ministry of the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a diverse parish of over 1,400 families located in Knoxville, Tenn., near the Smoky Mountains, an area with a growing Catholic population. The start date for the position is July 1, 2013.

The successful candidate will be a practicing Catholic with at least an MA in Educational Administration, three to five years of classroom teaching experience and three years of administrative experience.
