Catholic Dads awards School Support Grant of $750

The Catholic Dads board of directors recently presented a $750 check as the first of the organization’s new School Support Grants to the leadership of Sacred Heart Cathedral School in Knoxville.

The grant program, which launched in January, allocates resources for schools in the Diocese of Knoxville to assist with specific needs or projects that align with Catholic values and positively impact the school community.

“As our Catholic school communities grow here in East Tennessee, we recognize that budgets can be stretched. These awards are our way of helping ensure our schools have the resources they need to thrive academically, spiritually, and physically,” said Tom Basile, representing the Catholic Dads board of directors.

All school principals have been notified of the availability of the funds and provided with the link to the online application.

“We are deeply grateful to Catholic Dads for their generous donation to our school community,” said Sacred Heart principal Valerie Hanks. “This gift will be used to purchase new Mary statues for our teachers’ classrooms, helping to keep Our Blessed Mother at the heart of daily prayer and instruction. In addition, the donation will support our Virtues of the Month initiative, reinforcing the formation of faith, character, and discipleship in our students. We thank Catholic Dads for partnering with us in nurturing both the spiritual lives of our teachers and the virtue-filled growth of our students.”

Catholic Dads is a nonprofit public charity that encourages stronger fellowship among Catholic fathers, as they play an integral role in the faith formation of their children, their families, and their nation.

“Catholic Dads was created to ensure our fathers are supported and our schools continue to flourish in their work to prepare the next generation of the faithful. This grant is the first of what we hope will be many that we will provide to aid our school communities. We thank all our dads and the businesses who have contributed to help make this program a reality. We look forward to seeing the new statues and following the success of Sacred Heart’s Virtues of the Month program,” Mr. Basile said.
