Vernon Bernard Budde Jr., age 94, of Knoxville, passed away at his home on May 31.
Mr. Budde was born on Aug. 2, 1931, to Vernon Bernard Budde Sr. and Pauline Buck Budde and he grew up in Paducah, Ky.
Mr. Budde graduated from St. Mary Catholic High School in 1948 and then served in the U.S. Army. He graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in mechanical engineering.
Mr. Budde moved to Knoxville after his college graduation and worked for TVA. He married his wife of 60 years, Charlotte Price, in 1965. He is preceded in death by his parents and a son, Michael. Mr. Budde is survived by his wife, Charlotte; son, Ron (Tricia); six grandchildren, Stella, Macy, Laney, Aslyn, Stokes, and Kirk, all of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; a daughter-in-law, Heather; sisters-in-law, Linda Weaver and Rosemary Davenport, of Knoxville; a brother-in-law, Robert Price, of Jonesboro, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass for Mr. Budde was celebrated on June 8 at Holy Ghost Church with Father John Orr serving as the Mass celebrant. A burial service followed at the Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Knoxville.
