Stephen Frederick Price, age 72, of Farragut, passed away peacefully on June 8 surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Price was born on Feb. 18, 1954, in Oak Ridge. He graduated from Bearden High School in Knoxville and later earned a degree in marketing from the University of Tennessee.
It was at the University of Tennessee where Mr. Price met the love of his life, Mary. They were married in 1977 and recently celebrated 49 wonderful years of marriage. There was never any question that Mr. Price’s love for his wife exceeded everything else in his life.
Mr. Price was a longtime member of St. John Neumann Parish in Farragut and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Mr. and Mrs. Price made their home in Farragut in 1986, where they built a life centered on faith, family, and community. Mr. Price had many lifelong friendships that he treasured, bringing him many laughs and cherished memories throughout his life.
Mr. Price was exceptionally intelligent and detail-oriented, and he enjoyed a successful lifelong career in sales, earning numerous awards throughout his career. He was a devoted husband, father, and friend who always put the needs of others before his own. He loved cars, hunting, and all sports, especially when it involved his children growing up.
Mr. Price was an avid reader who could fix just about anything and was always on a quest to learn more. In his later years, Mr. and Mrs. Price found their greatest joy in spending time with their grandchildren, whose laughter and love brought immense happiness to their lives. Over the last 30 years, Mr. Price faced tremendous health battles with remarkable courage and determination. What he endured was truly unbelievable, and he persevered through it all because of his unwavering faith in God and deep love for his wife and family. His resilience and determination to remain with those he loved for as long as possible were an inspiration to everyone who knew him.
Mr. Price was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Emily Price; his son, Clinton Himmelberg Price; and his granddaughter, Addison Grace Price.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary; his brother and sister-in-law, Stuart and Suzi Price of Nashville; his son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Crissy Price; his daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Ryan Donovan; his beloved grandchildren, Elijah and Asher Price, and Declan and Liam Donovan; as well as nieces, nephews, brothers- and sisters-in-laws.
A funeral Mass for Mr. Price was celebrated on June 12 at St. John Neumann Church, with a burial service following at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Dandridge.
