Arvey Einar Eeg, born March 26, 1948, in Hennepin County in Minneapolis, passed away on July 7. He was the son of the late Einar and Joyce Loken Eeg.
Mr. Eeg graduated from Cooper High School in New Hope, Minn., in 1966 and went on to earn a degree in business and psychology from the University of Minnesota in 1971.
Throughout his life, he carried both a sharp professional mind and a deep appreciation for camaraderie, competition, and his community.
Mr. Eeg was a passionate golfer who competed on his high school and college teams and continued to play in amateur tournaments across Minnesota for many years. Among his proudest achievements was winning the Club Championship at Rarity Bay Golf & Country Club in Vonore, Tenn., along with numerous other individual and team victories throughout his lifetime.
Mr. Eeg built a distinguished career in manufacturing and operations management. He served as purchasing manager at Hybrid Electronics Inc. in Chaska, Minn.; materials and logistics manager at PerkinElmer in Eden Prairie, Minn., and later as manufacturing contract manager for Schering-Plough/Merck Pharmaceutical in Cleveland, Tenn. His dedication, leadership, and integrity earned him the respect of colleagues and peers alike.
In 1974, Mr. Eeg married the love of his life, Marlene Mollenhauer of Jordan, Minn. Together they shared over five decades of marriage, building a life rooted in love, partnership, and family. They made their home in Eden Prairie and Chanhassen, Minn., before relocating to Knoxville in 1999 and later settling in Bowling Green, Ky., in 2026.
Mr. Eeg is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Marlene Mollenhauer Eeg; his sister, Christine Eeg Struwve (husband Jeff); his nieces and nephews, Jessica Merriman (children Brody, Calvin, and Nyah), Phillip Merriman (wife Candice), and Garth Merriman (wife Cassie and children Izzy and Mila); his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gerald and Lynn Mollenhauer; and additional nieces and nephews, including Serena Mollenhauer (children Emmitt and Autumn Schleusner) and Dianna Mollenhauer Johnson (husband Mike and children Irving and Helena).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Einar and Joyce Eeg.
Mr. Eeg was deeply proud of his Norwegian heritage and remained a lifelong, devoted fan of the Minnesota Vikings. He will be remembered for his steady presence, his love of family, his competitive spirit on the golf course, and the many friendships he cultivated over the years.
A funeral Mass for Mr. Eeg was celebrated on Aug. 6 at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Lenoir City. Contributions in Mr. Eeg’s memory may be made to the Vanderbilt University Hospital Neurology Department in Nashville.
Mr. Eeg’s legacy of dedication, warmth, and quiet strength will be cherished by all who knew him.
