KDCCW hosting event for women with entertainer ValLimar Jansen
The East Tennessee Catholic
Father Joe Brando, a beloved priest of the Diocese of Knoxville who served the Church in East Tennessee for nearly 50 years before his death in 2021 at the age of 78, continues to give to an organization for which he served as a spiritual adviser and had great respect.
A bequest by Father Brando is making possible a celebration of women sponsored by the Knoxville Diocesan Council of Catholic Women. The event is set for Saturday, Sept. 12, at All Saints Church in Knoxville.
According to the KDCCW, the women’s program is given in loving memory by Father Brando, “who believed no woman in this diocese should ever wonder whether she belonged.”
Inspirational performer ValLimar Jansen will provide a day of music and storytelling at the event, which is for women of all ages.
Every woman in the diocese is invited to attend the free event.
Priests and seminarians are also encouraged to participate in the daylong celebration in support of women of the diocese.
Seats are limited and everyone planning to attend are asked to RSVP by Sept. 1. The first session of the program, called “You Were Never Meant to Walk the Journey Alone,” will begin at 8:30 a.m. and continue to noon. The second session will begin at 12:30 p.m. and concludes at 3 p.m. Child care will be provided.
All Saints Church is located at 620 N. Cedar Bluff Road in West Knoxville next to the campus of Knoxville Catholic High School.
