Knoxville Catholic High School on June 17 announced the appointment of Haden Roberts as the next head coach of the Lady Irish softball program.
Mr. Roberts brings more than 13 years of coaching experience to the role, including two seasons as an assistant coach with Knoxville Catholic. During his time with the Lady Irish, he helped guide the program to a historic milestone this spring as Knoxville Catholic earned its first appearance in the state tournament since 1984.
“We are extremely pleased to name Haden Roberts as the next head softball coach at Knoxville Catholic High School,” said athletics director Jason Surlas. “Haden is an outstanding coach with extensive experience in the sport of softball and a man of tremendous character who embodies the values of our school. I am confident he will build upon the momentum and success of our softball program from last season.”
A lifelong student of the game, Mr. Roberts has served as a head coach at both Karns High School and Concord Christian School while also holding assistant coaching positions at Knoxville Central High School and Karns High School. In addition to his high-school coaching experience, he spent 10 years coaching travel softball with the Knoxville Lady Eagles, a faith-based organization focused on developing players and helping them reach the next level.
“We have a special group of student-athletes who believe in what this program can become,” Mr. Roberts said. “I’m excited to work alongside our players, families, and the entire Knoxville Catholic community as we continue to grow Lady Irish softball.”
Mr. Roberts began his tenure as head softball coach immediately. He succeeds Hannah Seaver-Logan in the role.
